Drawing Eleven - Homework

FLUID THOUGHTS TO ACTION - WEEK ONE

Drawing One

My first encounter with the messy charcoal stick. Here, the blind contour approach is taken. Initially reluctant to 'ruin' my first drawing, but in doing so, it created alot of interesting shapes that both the first drawing and second created as well as made me question the 'truth' of the initial drawing.

Drawing Two

In class drawing of overlapping perspectives; each from opposite side of the room, It shows the movement of the shadows as i drew from different perspectives. The fun part was trying to make the two drawings merge, using nothing but a rubber.

Drawing Three

Collage of 3 different coloured paper to show the light and darkness of the room. It was interesting the way light permeates a space and i tried to show this by ripping small pieces to overlap the dark space or viceversa.

Drawing Four

Homework drawing of my desk showing the light and shadows made by various objects. i drew this drawing in two parts, one in the morning and one in the afternoon to experiment with the movement of shadows but due to smudging, it may not be evident.
